What Is Accutane?

Accutane is used for treating cystic acne which has been unresponsive to other treatments such as benzoyl peroxide or clindamycine. Accutane belongs to a class of drugs known as retinoids.

Accutane can be a harsh drug and cause numerous side effects such as depressed mood, difficulty concentrating, sleep problems/insomnia etc. Inform your doctor or pharmacist of your medical history before taking Accutane, especially if you an existing illness.

Taking Accutane may make you sensitive to the sun. It can also cause your red and white blood cell counts to decrease and result to feeling faint or have difficulty in breathing

*Accutane should only be taken when nothing else seems to be working. It should not be your first protocol in treating an acne. It should be your last resort medication
* Acne should not be taken when you only have a few spots or you’re just a teenager.
* When your acne is hereditary, then maybe you can consider taking Accutane
* Do some research or watch videos about when to take Accutane
