WHAT FOODS CAUSE ACNE???

There is abundance of a hormone called IGF-1 in milk, which is really good for baby cows, but not for you. IGF-1 is a growth hormone. It makes baby cows grow up big and strong, but in humans, it tends to make your acne grow big instead. IGF-1 is one of several factors that cause inflammation in humans, and which eventually lead to acne (and the ugly redness and swelling that makes acne so annoying).
Milk and dairy products cause an insulin spike in humans that cause the liver to produce even more IGF-1, leading to even more acne.
Dairy causes your skin to produce excess sebum (oil) leading to clogged pores, and more acne.
Dairy glues together dead skin cells inside your pores, so they can’t exit naturally, leading to clogged pores (and thus more acne).
High Glycemic Foods and Acne
A good way to improve the health of your skin is to eat in a manner that keeps your blood sugar steady. Some foods make your blood sugar quickly soar. This triggers your body to make a burst of the hormone insulin to help your cells absorb the sugar. And some research suggests that insulin may play a role in acne.
These foods trigger hormonal fluctuations and inflammation—both of which encourage acne. We’re talking foods like white bread, processed breakfast cereals, white rice, pretzels, potato chips, cookies and cakes, etc.
Refined Carbs
Highly refined carbs have high glycemic index and raise the blood sugar faster. Eating refined carbs causes your hormones to go crazy, your pores go crazy that’s why you get acne.
When your body has to produce tons of insulin because, then complex things happen with your hormones-including hormones that affect your pores. They cause your pores to make blackheads and secrete more oil. They even change what’s in your skin oil, making it more ‘pimple forming’.
The solution:
Choose sweets with honey or agave, which have lower glycemic index values than refined white sugar.
Replace the calcium that you would normally get from dairy by eating other foods such as calcium-rich leafy greens (like kale and mustard greens), broccoli, and sardines.
Eat complex carbs like whole grains (whole wheat flour instead of white, brown rice instead of white etc.)
Grab a piece of refreshing fresh fruit, instead of fruit juice and sugary fruit drinks
Drink water or sparkling mineral water instead of sugary soft drinks.
Fill up on veggies-all day and all that you want, because they have really low glycemic index values.
Eat moderate amounts of healthy protein including fish, lean meats, tofu, eggs and some dairy.
