Updated version of milia & blackheads TNTC: 1st treatment. For medical education- NSFE.

For medical education- NSFE. There is a glitch in the previously uploaded video, so this one should be better to view. Also, some questions have been asked about the amount of bleeding during this procedure. This patient has more sebaceous/thicker skin than the average person, and her milia are pretty deep under her thicker skin. I nick the surface of the skin with an 11 blade (which comes to a sharp point), in order to be able to express the milia, and this causes a little pinpoint bleeding, which will stop in a couple minutes, and she will NOT scar. Also, it’s important to note that there is NO anesthesia used for this patient.. sometimes I use a little local anesthesia if the patient is uncomfortable, but she is a tough cookie, and she didn’t need any! I’ll work on her cheeks next time and she is looking forward to it! She’s wanted these bumps removed for a long time.
