Here’s an even more amazing experiment …

1) fill a glass container with distilled water (be sure that it’s pure distilled water). And yes, you can usually buy this at the store.

2) put your electrodes in the water, both + and –

3) put on the DC at full strength.

4) notice that no current will flow, and no bubbles are forming (pure water is an insulator).

5) keep the current on

6) now, just drop a few grains of Salt in the water (a VERY tiny amount)

7) you will see the bubbles will start to form
