Skin as you all know is the largest organ in our body. It has two layers: the thin outer layer is made up of dead skin cells that are constantly shed and replaced by new cells. The thick inner layer is made up of blood vessels, nerves, and hair follicles, which contain glands.
Taking good care of our skin involves a few basic steps. These steps are recommended by dermatologists.
Face should be washed 2 times a day with a mild soap or gentle cleanser. Do not wash too often as it dries out the skin because the natural oils are being washed away. We do not want to have irritated and flaky skin, right? This can also break the skin’s natural process and it may trigger the skin to produce more oil than the usual which can cause more breakouts.
Bathe regularly and use warm water. If it’s winter, try avoiding hot showers as it can strip away the natural moisture of the skin. Avoid using soap with harsh chemicals them worst. Let them heal by their own or use natural products like Banish Activated Charcoal Clay and Pumpkin Enzyme Masques to dry them out.
Avoid touching your face too often. Your hands are the ultimate carrier of germs, bacteria and other stuff and you would not want to put those on your face, wouldn’t you?
Try to stay out of the sun and if exposure cannot be evaded; use sunscreen to protect your face and skin to the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Use it during summer and winter.
But remember; sunscreens stop working after 3 hours. So re-application is the key.
If you love make up; it’s important to use products that are hypoallergenic to avoid irritation. And it is very important to remove it before going to bed to reduce the risk of clogged pores or acne. Also, do not share makeup as it can increase the spread of bacteria.
Clean your make up brushes once a week. Our favourite tools are filled with oil, debris, dead cells and dirt but washing them once a week with baby shampoo will make a real difference to your skin. Soak the brushes in luke warm water to kill the germs and set them aside to dry off naturally.
Avoid being lazy. Exercising regularly is one of the most important things you can do for your health. It increases your blood flow and gives your skin a healthy glow
