Popping out 2 lipomas on the arm
This is a longstanding patient of mine, who has multiple lipomas on his body, in particular on his upper and lower extremities.
They have remained stable, same size and appearance for some years now, but some of them bother him, because they are pressure points (he leans up against them), and also some of them are noticeable.
His lipomas are pretty well encapsulated, so they “pop” out easily with a simple excision. Remember, lipomas are benign growths, clonal collections of fat cells (adipose cells), and can grow, but usually stabilize at some point and don’t continue to grow indefinitely. As you can see, removal is via a simple surgical excision under local anesthesia alone.
