My Response to a Popaholic’s Letter | An Important Lesson I’ve Learned as a Dermatologist!

Last month I received this amazing letter from a 14 year-old named Madison. For her school project, she had to ask people what they have found to be the most important lesson in life. I feel very honored to have been chosen to answer this question!! Check out my response in this video!!

Thank you so much for sending me this letter, Madison! Hopefully this video will help you get an A on your project 😉

Here’s the letter:

“Dear Dr. Sandra Lee,

Hello, my name is Madison: I am 14 years old. At school we were told to ask successful people what the most important lessons in life are. I asked my teacher, and he said it was important to make the most of your time doing the things you love, especially when you are young. I also asked my friend, and he explained it was important to find the good people in life and don’t let the few bad ones overshadow the good ones.

I am writing to you because you have been very successful, and I would like to learn what the most important lesson you have learned in life is. As a dermatologist, I am sure you have came across many different types of people, learning a thing or two about them. I really do think you are successful because you truly impact people’s lives, whether it’s a blackhead pop, or removing skin cancer, you help these people every day. Your success has had a great impact on me, watching your videos on YouTube has influenced me to become interested in dermatology. My favorite video is probably Pops’ goldmine, or any pilar cyst extraction.

I would like to know what you have found to be the most important lesson in life. I would also like to know what has led you to be so successful in life. Thank you for taking your time to read this letter and sharing your thoughts with me.

Sincerely,

Madison”
