I No Longer Want to be Beautiful

I’ve wanted to be beautiful my entire life. I envied the girls who were stunning and perfect. Now Im glad I’m actually not perfect and I’ll tell you why

From an early age, I know for a fact that I was not considered “beautiful” if we’re to base it on society’s beauty standard.

I grew up in Minnesota where I was the only Asian in our school, and from an early age, I was bullied for being different. Came high school, I struggled with cystic acne and the more reason I was bullied by my classmates and thus making me feel more insecure, unwanted and unattractive.

For so long, I’ve always wanted to be this stunningly beautiful woman who can just make a person stop everything that he’s doing just to look at me, want me, so I can finally feel accepted, wanted and just to finally feel that I am enough and beautiful.

So what I did is I started portraying myself as this beautiful, hot woman. I studied makeup tricks to make my eyes appear larger, I made an effort to clear my acne and makeup routine to hide my acne scars. I wear skimpy, bodycon dresses, high heels, full-face makeup – everything that I can to feel beautiful!

And I achieved it, people paid more attention to me, they’re finally interested to get to know me and I’m finally getting the attention that I want. I am not gonna lie, it felt great to be appreciated.

But despite getting what I’ve always wanted, I’m here to you today to tell you why, if given the chance, I would rather be an average woman rather than be a breathtakingly gorgeous individual.
