DIY AT HOME RAINBOW BREAD FOR THANKSGIVING AND HOLIDAYS!

HOW TO MAKE DIY AT HOME RAINBOW BREAD:

1. Measure out 1 cup of milk and microwave until it’s warm. Add to that one egg, 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, 1 1/2 tablespoons melted butter, one packet of quick rise instant yeast, and mix it all together.

2. Add in about a cup of flour at a time. You may not need to use all the flour, it depends on how dry the weather is. When your dough starts to form a ball, turn it out onto a floured surface and knead it, adding more flour as you go until your dough is elastic and smooth and not too sticky.

3. Then divide your dough into 6 equal pieces and knead food coloring into each piece until there aren’t streaks of color left in the dough. Make sure to cover the pieces of dough so they don’t dry out. Let the dough proof in a warm place until they’ve about doubled in size.

4. Once your dough has proofed you can flatten each piece and stack them. If the dough is dry, dab it with water so that it adheres well to the other layers. You can pretty much make the dough into whatever shape you want, just let it proof again before putting it into the oven. You may want to dip your fingers in water and smooth the layers together, because they may separate a bit in the oven. Bake for about half an hour in a 350 degree oven.
