Treating angiomas & DPNs on the chest with electrocautery For medical education- NSFE.

For medical education- NSFE. Angiomas are extremely common vascular “abnormalities”. They are flat speckled red spots, or even can grow quite large and raised and appear more purple in color. They are benign and 100% of us will have at least one of them by the time we turn 18 years old. Small ones can be treated with electrocautery, cauterizing the tiny superficial vessels on the skin.
Electrocautery can also be used to remove DPNs (dermatosis papulosa nigra), which we like to call “wisdom spots” because many of us get more the “wiser” that we get. They are benign, but to many, they appear ugly, so people seek treatment and removal of them. Another treatment method to remove DPNs is using the iriderm laser, which is a procedure I have posted in another youtube video.
