6 Easy Halloween Costumes You Already Own

It’s official Halloween Season! Today I will show you some easy and fun costumes that you most likely already have in your closet. These are great for if you are looking to make an inexpensive but fun costume or maybe you work at a job that allows you to dress up on Halloween or even if you just forget to think of one and need something last minute!
1. Ghost
A staple in all things Halloween, a ghost is festive and easy. All you need in a white shirt, the flowier the better, and white or black skirt/shorts/pants. A white dress would also work.
The makeup is going to be an important part of this costume but its super simple. If you want to go the extra step, go to your local Halloween store and get some white face makeup. Use this lightly on your face and neck area, not as to completely cover everything but more just give you that pale tone. Otherwise, just use your regular foundation. Next, you can use some black eyeshadow and make the dark rings around the eyes. If you want to get more into it, start with the black eyeshadow closest to your eye blend gray eyeshadow outward to give it more of a blended effect. Leave the lips nude or go for a bold, dark color. Up to you!

2. Raccoon
This outfit is along with the same basic principles of the ghost costume. You’ll need a gray shirt and black skirt/shorts/pants. All black outfit also works. Added bonus if you have any white belts/accessories.
For the makeup, similar to the ghost, but the heavy smokey eye will be more concentrated around the eyes. Go ahead and apply the eyeshadow a little farther towards your temples than you normally would and also apply to the inner corner of the eye.
To make the nose, use black eyeliner to draw a rounded, upside-down triangle. The point will end just between your nostrils.
Last step- Hair: this works for other animal costumes as well. If you don’t want to make ears or purchase them, use your hair. Part your hair in the middle and make two buns on either side of your head.

3. Dinosaur

This is a great one if you want to practice your braiding skills. It does require some crafting but first, the clothes you will need an all-green outfit. You could do any color but green seems the best fit.
For the Hair: Make a single Dutch Brain down the middle of your hair. A Dutch braid is like an inside-out-french braid. Try and start it as high as possible.
Now, this is where the crafting comes in: Making the spikes. Make these before as they need to dry completely. So, get some construction/scrapbooking paper. Make sure it’s thin but sturdy. Cut out triangles. If you want to have it be more complex, start small and make each triangle a bit bigger. Once these are cut out, you will hot glue the bottom to the flat side of the bobby pin. Ones these are COMPLETELY dry, you can add the ridges along the middle of your braid.
Makeup: to take your dino up a notch use a mesh mag or fishnet tights to make scales. After you apply your foundation lay your netting over the area you want scales. Use eyeshadow and lightly brush over the area. This technique is also great for is you want to dress up as a mermaid.
Now, these next two are super easy, not tricky hair/makeup.

4. Katniss from the Hunger Games
If you want to do something a little more pop culture relevant you can go as Katniss. Super simple. All you need is a black shirt, a leather jacket (best is brown/green) and some dark color pants and combat style boots.
Pull your hair into a side braid and done! Go the extra mile and get a toy bow and arrow.

5. Sleeping Beauty.
This one is fantastic because not only is it cute but other people will be jealous of how cozy you are.
All you need is either a pajama set, nightshirt or robe, a tiara which you can find at target or a 99 cents store
Do your hair and makeup however glamorous you want. Add slippers and that’s it. The best part is you can just hop right into bed when you get home.

6. Witch
Easiest costume to do. You only need a black long skirt or pants and a black shirt. Get a witch hat to complete your costume.
