10 USES FOR PETROLEUM JELLY

Petroleum Jelly (AKA Vaseline) is the unsung hero of the beauty world. Although it lacks in glamour, it is a staple among makeup artists for its versatility. Because we all should be as excited about Vaseline as Tyra Banks.

Here are 10 uses for Petroleum Jelly :

1. Clear Mascara/ Eyelash Conditioner

Not only does Vaseline define eyelashes, but it helps them grow thicker and longer. For a no-makeup makeup look, coat your finger in a thin layer of Vaseline and swipe onto curled lashes.

2. Brow Tamer

Replace your brow gel with petroleum jelly! Petroleum jelly will give your brows a flexible hold, unlike those gross crunchy brow gels.

3. Prevent Lipstick from Smudging onto Teeth

In case you were wondering what queen bey was rubbing on her teeth in the pretty hurts music video, it was Vaseline. And if its good enough for beyonce, its good enough for the rest of us. Just smooth a thin layer of petroleum jelly onto your teeth and you wont have to worry about your lipstick transferring to your teeth.

4. Highlighter

For a more natural, lit-from-within look, swap out your shimmery highlighters with Vaseline for a more subdued glow. Just pat a thin layer of petroleum jelly onto the high points of your face.

5. Cleaner Nail Painting

Not everybody can pull off a manicure without mistakes. Instead of breaking out the acetone-soaked q-tips, make your life easier by spreading a layer of Vaseline just around your nail. This creates a barrier between your skin and the nail polish that can be easily wiped off when your nails dry.

6. Lip Scrub

Avoid pricey lip scrubs by making your own! Just mix equal parts granulated sugar and petroleum jelly, rub onto lips and wipe off.

7. Make creams out of powders

Mix a little bit of Vaseline with your favorite powder makeup products to transform them into dewy creams.

8. Fragrance Primer

Spread some Vaseline on your skin wherever you plan on spritzing perfume to extend the life of your fragrance. Moisturized skin holds scents better than dry skin.

9. Makeup Remover

Petroleum Jelly makes for a gentle and moisturizing makeup remover. Massage some into your skin and wipe of with cotton pads.

10. Hair Tamer

Smooth flyaways and seal split ends by applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly to trouble spots.
